OKLAHOMA CITY – The St. Gregory's swimming and diving teams competed Saturday for one last chance to qualify for the NAIA National Meet, traveling to Oklahoma City for the OCCC Invitational.

Here are some highlights from the event:

Jason Schroeder had a big day, hitting "A" national qualifying standards in the 50 freestyle (21.70) and 100 butterfly (51.94). His top 10 finish in the 100 freestyle (48.81) was just .19 off the "A" standard but was within the "B" qualification.

The men's relay teams set three qualifying times – in the 200 freestyle (1:31.15), 400 freestyle (3:25.58), and 200 medley (1:40.49).

Austin Cody finished 8th in the 100 breaststroke with a "B" standard time of 1:02.70.

Garrett Thompson finished 19th in the 50 freestyle, achieving a "B" standard with a time of 22.52. Mark Roselius was just .13 off the "B" qualification in the event.

Gabe Sanchez finished 15th in the 100 freestyle with a time of 50.27 – just .19 slower than the "B" standard.

Joe Brasher knocked two seconds off his 100 backstroke time (56.86) but fell just .01 short of the "B" standard.

Kaitlin Hampton placed 15th in the 100 freestyle with a time of 59.42 – 1.26 seconds off the "B" national standard. That result was a personal best as she broke the minute barrier for the first time.

The NAIA National Meet is March 4-7 in Oklahoma City.
