GENEVA, Ohio – St. Gregory's junior Hosea Maritim just missed advancing to the finals in the 800-meter run Friday at the 50th annual men's NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships.

Maritim, who entered nationals with the ninth-best time among his competitors, placed 10th overall in the preliminary round with a time of 1:54.74. He was just .27 out of eighth place and a trip to Saturday's finals.

The Cavalier 4x800 relay team was also eliminated in prelims. The team of Gustavo Escobar, Robert Torres, Ben Dodson and Hosea Maritim came in with a time of 8:02.02 – good enough for 15th overall.

Outdoor season begins next Thursday for St. Gregory's.
