SHAWNEE – Personal records and season bests abounded this weekend for the St. Gregory's track and field teams, competing in their second outdoor competition of the season at the OBU Open.

Here are some of the highlights:

  • The men's 4x400 relay team (Anthony Watkins, Hosea Maritim, Ben Dodson and Quintin Powell) ran the program's fastest time (3:18.33) since the sport was added back to the list of varsity offerings in 2012.
  • Jerica Heyd won the triple jump at 11.27 (13 cm from a "B" national qualifying standard). She was fifth in long jump with a leap of 5.21.
  • Watkins hit a "B" national qualifying standard in the 110 hurdles (14.76).
  • Sara Cuzick notched a top 5 in the hammer (37.54), while Edgar Villarreal set a new personal best at 41.22.
  • The men's 4x100 team of McKinney, Watkins, Farris and Baldomaro Lozano finished fifth with a season-best 42.77.
  • Caleigh Donaghe posted a top 5 finish in the discus – 35.03 meters.
  • Austin Stone was fifth in the shot put with a toss of 13.22 meters.
  • Powell ran a season best of 49.28 in the 400.
  • Dustin Swift finished 14th in the 400 hurdles with a season-best 59.03.
  • Sabrina DeSantiago's 2:24 in the 800 was a season best.
  • Holly Anderson shattered her season best in the 100 hurdles, coming in at 16.46.
  • Season bests in the 100 went to Kiaron McKinney (11.22) and Tyler Farris (11.59).

St. Gregory's returns to action April 4 at the HSU Invitational in Abilene, Texas.
