ABILENE, Texas – The St. Gregory's men's 200 medley relay team dropped nearly five seconds off its national qualifying time Friday night, highlighting the Cavaliers' action at the UTPB-McMurry Tri-Meet at Abilene High School.

The men's team split the double dual, earning a 104-77 victory over McMurry and falling 119-82 to UTPB. The women's team dropped both ends – 130-44 to UTPB and 86-64 to McMurry.

SGU's 200 medley team of Jason Schroeder, Austin Cody, Michael White and Garrett Thompson came in at a dual-best 1:38.41 – more than 12 seconds faster than the standard. It also set a new school record.

Individually, Thompson won both the 50 and 100 freestyle races. His time in the 100 made the "B" national qualifying cut.

Official results will be linked to this story as soon as they are made available.

St. Gregory's concludes its Texas road trip Saturday in a dual at Austin College. That meet is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
