COLUMBUS, Ga. – Thirteen athletes will represent St. Gregory's this week at the NAIA Swimming & Diving National Championships. The event, scheduled for March 2-5, will be held at the Columbus Aquatic Center in Columbus, Ga.

On the men's side, Jason Schroeder will compete in three individual events (50-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard butterfly). He comes in with the competition's 10th-best time in the 100 fly (51.34).

Garrett Thompson is in two individual events – the 50- and 100-yard freestyle. Thompson is currently 20th in the 50 free (21.68). Austin Cody qualified in the 100-yard breaststroke, and Michael White will compete in the 100-yard butterfly.

Four men's relay teams will compete – 200-yard freestyle, 200-yard medley, 400-yard freestyle and 400-yard medley. Both medley teams come in with the 11th best time (1:38.31 and 3:36.83) among their competitors.

In addition to Schroeder, Thompson, Cody and White, four other Cavs will compete in or be alternates for those relays – Corey Grochow, Gabriel Sanchez, Jeffrey Trout and Michael Heon.

On the women's side, Madison York will go in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle. Joining her in the 50 free will be Erica Heon and Kaitlin Hampton.

Three women's relay teams will compete – 200-yard freestyle, 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle. The Cavs rank No. 22 among their competitors in both the 200 free (1:50.04) and 200 medley (2:04.74).

In addition to York, Heon and Hampton, two other Cavaliers – Kaelyn Carter and Shannon Jordan – will compete in or be alternates for those relays.  

The championship meet will be streamed at www.NAIANetwork.com with more than 13 hours of live coverage scheduled. There will also be live tracking of results integrated on the broadcast.
