SHAWNEE – Bonia Velasquez netted a golden goal in double overtime, and Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) downed St. Gregory's, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at Fr. Victor Roberts Field. The Lions snapped a seven-game winless streak.

Scoreless through 100 minutes of regulation and one extra period, Velasquez ended it moments into the second OT with a header just over the hand of SGU keeper Adrian Cole. The game-winner came off an assist from Danny Castro.

SAGU enjoyed a 14-8 edge in total shots, including 6-3 in on-target attempts. Ruben Basurto finished with a team-best three shots for the Cavs. Cole had five saves.

SGU (4-10, 0-7 SAC) hosts Mid-America Christian Tuesday. Game time is set for 3 p.m. at Fr. Victor Roberts Field.
