WOMEN'S GAME NOTES
● LOOKING BACK: St. Gregory's Abi Housecroft came up with her second consecutive game-winning goal as the Cavaliers hung on to defeat Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas), 1-0, Saturday at Fr. Victor Roberts Field. Housecroft scored the game's only goal in the 34th minute, sending a shot just past the reach of SAGU keeper Kathleen Espinoza.
● SCOUTING MACU: The Lady Evangels have dropped consecutive 1-0 road decisions – at SAGU and USAO. MACU is led by eight goals from Brittney Stephens. Madison Donihoo has 88 saves and an .863 save percentage.
● SERIES VS. MACU: St. Gregory's has dropped its last nine meetings with MACU, scoring only four goals in that span. The Lady Evangels came away with a 3-0 victory the last time these two teams met in Shawnee (2014).
● SAC HONORS: Following an undefeated week that included clinching a postseason berth, St. Gregory's women's soccer team swept the Sooner Athletic Conference weekly awards. Abi Housecroft was named offensive player of the week, while Jena Flewelling earned defensive honors.
● FLORES FLOURISHING: Araceli Flores continues to add to her program-leading goal total. With 11 in 2016, she now has 38 goals for her career. Flores is tied for fifth in the SAC in points per game (1.8), and her goal total is tied for her single-season career high.
● DOWNTON ABI: SGU senior Abi Housecroft set a new career single-season mark for goals scored last week. She has 11 this season after booting her second consecutive game-winner on Saturday. Housecroft has eight multi-goal games in her career and has a goal and/or assist in nine of the Cavs' 14 games this season.
● FREE KICK SPECIALIST: Beth McHale is having a career season offensively. The Liverpool, England, native had not scored entering this season, but now has six goals in 12 games. Many have come from long distance off free kicks.
● SHUTOUT SHOUTOUT: Jena Flewelling and Mallory Adams have turned into quite the keeper platoon. The duo has combined for six shutouts so far in 2016. Flewelling leads SGU with 47 saves in 1022 minutes of work thus far. Adams has a team-best .786 save percentage in 252 minutes.

MEN'S GAME NOTES
● LOOKING BACK: Bonia Velasquez netted a golden goal in double overtime, and Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) downed St. Gregory's, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at Fr. Victor Roberts Field. Scoreless through 100 minutes of regulation and one extra period, Velasquez ended it moments into the second OT with a header just over the hand of SGU keeper Adrian Cole.
● SCOUTING MACU: The Evangels have dropped seven of their last eight decisions – the lone win a 2-1 triumph at SAGU. Caleb Roldan and Gleydson Neri lead the team with four goals each. Jakob O'Meara-Gill has 62 saves in goal to go along with a .646 save percentage.
● SERIES VS. MACU: The Cavs are 4-2-3 in their last nine matchups with the Evangels. MACU, however, hasn't lost in Shawnee over that span (2-0-2). The Evangels were 2-1 victors the last time these teams met at Fr. Victor Roberts Field.
● FRANK THE TANK: SGU sophomore Frank Molina is tied for the team lead in goals and has put nine of his 14 shot attempts on goal so far in 2016. His game-winner against Bethel (Kan.) helped him earn Sooner Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors on September 19.
● FRESHMAN PHENOM: Playing in his first season as a collegian, freshman Gabriel Martinez is making quite the impact. He has a goal and three assists so far and leads the team in total points (5).
● COLE-BLOODED: Cavalier senior Adrian Cole turned in his third shutout of the season against Bethel – the seventh clean sheet of his career. Cole finished second in the NAIA in total saves a season ago (142).
● NOTEWORTHY: Greg Gibson's game-winner against Randall was his sixth career score. Prior to that goal, Gibson hadn't found the net since the 2014 season. Flavio Torres' goal against Sterling was his first as a Cavalier.
