SHAWNEE – Gabriel Martinez scored a pair of goals, and St. Gregory's snapped a nine-game skid with a 3-1 win over Mid-America Christian Tuesday at Fr. Victor Roberts Field. The Cavaliers moved within one point of the final Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament spot with one regular-season game to play.

Martinez ended a long scoring drought for SGU, which hadn't managed a goal during its losing streak. He deposited a pass from Will Shirkey just seven minutes in to give the home team a 1-0 lead. After MACU evened it in the 38th minute, Martinez struck again moments into the second half to make it 2-1 Cavs.

Frank Molina provided some insurance for the home team in the 54th minute, converting a Dylan Hestand pass to make it a two-score game.

Keeper Adrian Cole and the SGU backline held steady from there. Cole finished with four saves as the Cavs held the visitors to only two second-half shots.

St. Gregory's (5-10, 1-7 SAC) concludes its regular season with a must-win game Friday at USAO. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Chickasha.
