CHICKASHA – USAO controlled the possession in a 3-0 shutout of St. Gregory's Friday night in Chickasha. The loss in the regular-season finale ended the Cavaliers' hopes of a postseason appearance. SGU concludes its 2016 campaign at 5-11.
The Drovers (10-7-1, 5-3-1 SAC) outshot the Cavs, 26-5, for the game – including 8-2 in on-target attempts. USAO had a 12-4 advantage in corner tries.
Owen Connelly got USAO on the board in the eighth minute on an unassisted score. The Drovers went up 2-0 in the 19th minute when Connelly found Llewellyn Evans for another strike. The home team put it away late with a Conor Fay goal in the 41st minute.
Ruben Basurto led the visitors with two shots. Adrian Cole concluded a standout collegiate career with five saves in goal.
