● LOOKING BACK: Despite another double-double effort from St. Gregory's senior Ashlyn Broussard, the Cavaliers dropped a 3-1 decision (25-12, 25-13, 19-25, 25-17) to Texas Wesleyan Saturday afternoon at the Sid Richardson Center. Sarah Ahrens led the Cavs with 18 assists. Kayley Davis' 22 digs led all players.
● SCOUTING OCU: The nationally ranked Stars have won 18 consecutive matches, dropping only four sets over that span. OCU ranks fifth in the NAIA in team hitting percentage (.273) with Manon Soraru averaging 3.4 kills/set on a .403 attacking clip. Caitlin Chamness' 0.8 aces/game rank No. 2 in the NAIA.
● SERIES VS. OCU: The Stars have won seven straight in their series against the Cavaliers, including a straight-sets (25-14, 25-19, 25-12) win earlier this season at Abe Lemons Arena. OCU claimed a 3-0 win last season in Shawnee.
● DOUBLING UP: Ashlyn Broussard has become a double-double machine in 2016. She has a career-best 23 double-doubles so far, including 11 in her last 13 matches. Broussard leads the team in kills/set (3.4) and aces (45). She's posted double-figure digs in every match this season.
● BLOCK PARTY: Courtney Murphy has become one of the top blockers in the NAIA. The junior from Tulsa has 148 so far, including a career-high 14 at Bacone. Murphy leads the SAC and ranks No. 5 in the NAIA in blocks per set (1.4). She has at least four blocks in 12 of her last 15 matches.
● SUPER SOPH: Gabby Ware is having a breakout sophomore season. The San Antonio, Texas, native has career highs in total kills (264) and digs (314). Ware is second on the team with a .167 hitting percentage. She tallied a career-high 16 kills at SAGU and 30 digs at John Brown.
● NOTEWORTHY: Cierra Mullins has double-figure kills in three of her last six matches, hitting .194 over that span ... Kayley Davis has at least 16 digs in 15 of her last 18 matches, including a season-high 33 vs. Bacone.
