St. Gregory's head cheer coach Mandy Thomson has announced an open workout date for this month. Anyone interested in joining the nationally recognized Cavalier squad is invited to participate in the workout, which will be held inside Sumner Field House on the SGU campus.
SGU Cheer Workout
Date: Wednesday, November 16
Time: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Sumner Field House (SGU campus), 1900 W. MacArthur St., Shawnee, OK
Attire: Comfortable attire suited for performing skills
Who: College transfers and high school juniors/seniors
St. Gregory's added competitive cheerleading as a varsity sport in 2010 and has since worked its way into the national spotlight. The Cavaliers have finished in the top 10 at its national competitions in each of the past four seasons. SGU was national runner-up twice in 2014.
