Five St. Gregory's volleyball players have earned All-Sooner Athletic Conference accolades, the league office announced Friday. Ashlyn Broussard and Kayley Davis were named to the second team, while Courtney Murphy, Sarah Ahrens and Cierra Mullins earned honorable mention status.

Broussard, a senior from Rockwall, Texas, recorded a career-best 24 double-doubles this season, including 12 over her last 16 matches. Broussard led the team and was among the SAC's top six in kills/set (3.4) and aces (46). Her career-best 571 digs were second on the team.

Davis, a freshman from Irving, Texas, finished tied for second in the Sooner Athletic Conference in digs/set (5.2). She had at least 16 digs in 17 of her final 21 matches, including a season-high 33 vs. Bacone.

Murphy, a junior from Tulsa, was one of the top blockers in the NAIA in 2016. She led the SAC and ranked No. 7 in the NAIA in blocks per set (1.3). She had at least four blocks in 13 of her last 18 matches.

Ahrens, a sophomore from Wichita Falls, Texas, led the Cavs with 724 assists. Her 5.9 assists per set average ranked seventh in the conference. Ahrens tallied at least 20 assists in 14 of her final 18 matches.

Mullins, a senior from Austin, Texas, was third on the team with 219 kills and a 1.9 kills/set average. She finished with six double-digit kill matches, including a season-best 15 against Mid-America Christian.

The Cavs set program records for wins (19), winning streak (11) and conference victories (10) in 2016. Projected to finish eighth in the SAC preseason poll, SGU rose to as high as third late in the season before settling at fifth. The Cavs' victory over Texas Wesleyan in September was the program's first over a team either ranked or receiving votes in a national poll.
