St. Gregory's University sophomore Greg Keogh found the back of the net less than two minutes out of intermission and the Cavs made it hold up in a 1-0 victory at Tabor College on Friday night.
Keogh, a defender from Ireland, made good on an unassisted shot in the 47th minute to propel the Cavs to their third consecutive win. It was Keogh's first goal of the season.
SGU (4-3) outshot the Bluejays 14-10 in a chippy contest that saw 31 combined fouls. Junior keeper Brock Vorwald had five saves on the night. Alex Burton led the Cavalier attack with four shots, including three on goal. Luke Keogh had three shots.
SGU returns to action Tuesday at Fr. Victor Roberts Field against No. 10-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University. That game is scheduled for 4 p.m.
