WAXAHACHIE- The Cavaliers (2-23, 0-18 SAC) played hard, and played well, but they couldn't hold onto their first half lead. Southwestern Assemblies of God University (11-16, 4-14 SAC) walked away with the 70-61 victory, after being fought hard by the Cavs. St. Gregory's led for the entire first half, and took a 33-31 lead into halftime. The Lions chipped away at the Cavs lead, and took their first lead of the game at 7:34 of the third quarter. The Cavs would get within two, with 2:42 remaining in the game, but SAGU held on for the victory.

Kelsie Howgard (JR/Menifee, Calif.) led the Cavs in points with 15, and Kylee Tatum (SR/Bethel, Okla.) scored 14 points to go with 9 rebounds. Shanques Garrett (SR/Tulsa, Okla.) scored 6 points, and grabbed 13 rebounds. Danielle Butler (SR/Ft. Worth, Texas) matched her career high in points, with 10, and she also had three steals.

Korede Ahmedu and Charity Page each had double-doubles for the Lions. Ahmedu finished with 14 points and 22 rebounds, and Page finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Ebony Colbert scored a game-high 18 points.

The Cavs now look forward to next season, and we all thank the seniors for the mark that they'll leave on the program. Kylee Tatum, Danielle Butler, and Shanques Garrett were vital members to the team, and they will be missed.
