WAXAHACHIE- Coming into Saturday evenings game, the Cavs had a good shot at making the SAC playoffs, but with MACU beating OCU and SGU falling to SAGU, the Cavs seaon has now come to a close. St. Gregory's (10-15, 6-12 SAC) fought hard all game, but No. 21 Southwestern Assemblies of God University (22-8, 12-6 SAC) was just a little too much for the Cavaliers to handle. The entire game was very close, and in the Cavaliers led for much of the first half, but halfway through the second half, the Lions were able to extend a lead and shut the door on SGU.

Jordin Rutherford led the Cavaliers with 14 points and also added 4 rebounds. Malik Barnett (JR/Midwest City, Okla.) scored 13 points, followed by James Bickers (SO/Tulsa, Okla.)' 10 points. Rodney Smith (SR/Chicago, Ill.) scored 9 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and dished out 4 assists. As a team, SGU only shot 38.5 percent on the night, and SAGU won the rebounding battle, 48-31.

The Lions were led  by Keyunta Watkins' 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Josh WIlliams recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, and he also had 3 steals. Isaak Rowe scored 17 points to go with 8 rebounds, and Kentton Williams scored 13 points to go with 5 rebounds.

The Cavs now look forward to next season, and say goodbye to some great players. Jordan Rutherford (SR/Houston, Texas), Rodney Smith, Zachary Lemusu (SR/San Diego, Calif.), and Zachary Self (SR/Seminole, Okla.) will be greatly missed, and Cav Nation wishes them nothing but the best in their bright futures.
