LAGUNA VISTA- On Monday and Tuesday, the Cavaliers men's and women's golf teams competed at the South Padre Intercollegiate in Laguna Vista, Texas. The men's team finished in seventh place out of nine teams, and the women finished in third out of nine teams.

The men's team finished 74 strokes over par, with a total of 650. The women finished 141 strokes over par, with a score of 717.

Andrew Joiner (JR/Spanish Fort, Ala.) finished in a tie for third place, finishing just one stroke behind the co-winners. He finished 8 strokes over par, and finished with a final total of 152.  Morgen Pettigrew (JR/Shawnee, Okla.) finished in a tie for twelfth place, with a final total of 156, which was 12 strokes over par. 

Carina Hernandez (FR/Mission, Texas) led the women's team with her ninth place finish. She shot for a total of 174, which was 30 strokes over par. Taylor Greteman (SR/Moore, Okla.) finished just behind Hernandez, with an eleventh place finish. She finished with a total of 179, and was 35 strokes over par. Megan Buchanan (JR/Antlers, Okla.) and Alexis Tallant (SR/Ft. Worth, Texas) also finished in the top twenty. 

The Cavs men will be back in action on March 10 and 11, when they compete at the Evangel Spring Invitational in Springfield, Mo. The women will be back in action on March 6 and 7, when they compete at the Lion Invitational in Pottsboro, Texas.
