St. Gregory's University goalkeeper Brock Vorwald was named Sooner Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for September 17-23. Vorwald, a junior from Norman, had five saves in shutouts of Bacone College and Tabor (Kan.) College. The Cavs blanked Bacone 9-0 and Tabor 1-0.

Vorwald, who also plays basketball for the Cavaliers, has 18 saves in six games this season. He has helped SGU to three consecutive wins.

The Cavaliers (4-3) return to action Tuesday when they host No. 10-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University. That game is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Fr. Victor Roberts Field.
