SPRINGFIELD, MO – Junior Morgen Pettigrew (JR/Shawnee, Okla.) fired a two-round total of 154 on his way to a T-7 finish on Friday at the Evangel Fall Invite, his second top-15 finish of the spring in as many events. Pettigrew's round one score of 78 was backed up by a round of 76 in the afternoon on the par 72, 7066 yard course at Rivercut. Junior Rickey Hong (SO/Choctaw, Okla.) carded a second round 78 to join Pettigrew in the 70s.
The Cavaliers finished 8th as a team moving up one spot after the first round. RS freshman Matias Nelson (FR/Mustang, Okla.) just missed a top-25 finish after placing 28th with a two-round total of 163. RS freshman Braden Ricks (FR/Shawnee, Okla.) rounded out the scoring for SGU.
The Cavaliers will be back in action March 20-21 at the Texas A&M Commerce Lion Invitational at Tanglewood Resort in Pottsboro, Texas.
