SHAWNEE- 2016 St. Gregory's graduate Brett Kennedy will begin Q-School Tuesday, March 14th for the Mackenzie Tour, also known as PGA Tour Canada. The qualifying tournament will be played on the 7,304 yard layout of Carlton Oaks Country Club in Santee, California. The four day event will consist of 72 holes to determine player membership for 2017 with the top 40 finishers receiving playing status for the upcoming season.

Kennedy, a native of Kitchener, Ontario in Canada played just one season for the Cavaliers after transferring from Northern New Mexico College. He carried a 74.3 average over his final semester at SGU which included a win at the Central Baptist Spring Invite and an All-Conference performance at the SAC Championship.

Head Coach Rob Bennett had this to say about Kennedy:

"From the time Brett came to us in the fall of 2015 to the time he graduated in the spring of 2016 his game had improved drastically. Mentally and physically he was a different player, which I think says a lot about his work ethic and determination to grow and improve. Our program gave him a place to get better and he seized that opportunity. I know he will do well at Q-School and I hope he has a long and productive professional golf career!"
