The St. Gregory's University women's soccer team was outshot 16-3 in the second half of a 2-0 loss to Oklahoma Wesleyan on Tuesday at Father Victor Roberts Field. The Lady Eagles, who held the Cavaliers to only five shots for the game, broke a scoreless tie in the 69th minute and put the game away with only seven minutes remaining on Libby Storie's unassisted goal.
"We held our own for the majority of the game," said SGU coach Tommy Riley. "Like all season, we created a few chances to score, but we didn't find a way to convert them. I'm pleased with our performance and the way we gutted it out, but I'm disappointed in the way we finished our opportunities."
SGU senior Jennifer Alesch had three shots to lead the team. Jennifer Taber was active in goal with a season-high nine saves.
SGU (0-7-1) will return to action Thursday at USAO. That contest is scheduled for 1 p.m.
