Junior Lexie Renteria digs a shot for the Cavaliers
Volleyball - Tue, Sep. 25, 2012

Tuesday night the Cavaliers volleyball team tried to ride the enthusiasm of a loud home crowd to a victory of the Nationally ranked Bison of OBU.  The outcome the Cavs team was looking for would not come as the Bison won the match in three straight sets by the scores of 17-25; 17-25 and 21-25.

The loss was the sixth on the season and the third one in conference play for the Cavaliers.  The Cavaliers are still looking for their first win against their cross-town rival since both teams started volleyball a few years ago.

In tonights game the Cavaliers played hard, but had a hard time with the Bison's excellent serving and net play.  The Cavaliers only recorded 21 kills in the entire match, with Joey Redwine collecting eight of them.  Aminah Orozco helped set up two thirds of these kills as the senior setter had 14 assists.

The Cavs next will travel to Siloam Springs, Arkansas to take on conference foe John Brown.  The next home game will be on Saturday, October 13 when they play host to Kansas Wesleyan University.
