SHAWNEE- St. Gregory's (15-9, 9-5 SAC) completed the double-header sweep against Southwestern Assemblies of God University on Saturday afternoon. Game was was a tight, and hard fought game, but the Cavs outlasted the Lions for the 3-2 win. Game two was all SGU, as they went on to win 16-5, in only 5 innings. 

SAGU jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in game one, by scoring in the top of the first, but that lead was short lived, because the Cavaliers came back with three runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. The Cavs scored their first run on a RBI, infield single by Jessica Nelson (JR/Lewisville, Texas), allowing Sutv Meely (SR/Tecumseh, Okla.) to score. Nelson was then driven home on a RBI triple by Sammy Leisinger (SR/Little Axe, Okla.). Crystal Pablo (SO/Gallup, N.M.) them laid down a squeeze-bunt to bring in Leisinger for the final run of the first inning. Those three runs were all that the Cavs would need, because the Lions were only able to score one more time. 

Chula Chavez (JR/Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) pitched a gem, on her way to her fifth win of the season. Chavez went all 7 innings, allowing zero earned runs on 5 hits, and she struck out 8 batters. 

The Cavs offensive attack was led by the first the batters in the line-up. Sutv Meely, Jessica Nelson, and Sammy Leisinger each had two hits and one run scored. Nelson and Leisinger each had one RBI as well. Meely stole three bases in game one, and then she stole three more later in game two. Ashli Hafford (JR/Blanchard, Okla.), Bryanne Knox (SR/Dickson, Okla.), and Baylee Hughes (FR/Brighton, Ill.) each had one hit a piece as well. 

The Cavaliers started off game two red hot at the plate. SGU scored 5 runs in the first inning, which was started by Meely scoring on Jessica Nelson's sac-fly. Crystal Pablo then drove in Sammy Leisinger on a single to center field. Pablo was then knocked home by Ashli Hafford, on her first hit of a four hit performance. Baylee Hughes picked up a two-RBI single to left, scoring Hafford and Lexis Young (FR/Mustang, Okla.). The Lions scored one run in the top of the second inning, making the score 5-1. St. Gregory's then came right back with three more runs in the bottom of the second inning. Crystal Pablo drove in the first two runs of the inning, when she hit a double to deep center that brought in Leisinger and Lauren Miller (JR/Blanchard, Okla.). Ashli Hafford drove in Pablo with a double off of the center field fence, making the score 8-1. The Cavs held the Lions scoreless in the top of the third inning, and then the Cavs scored three more runs in the bottom of the third. Meely scored the first run on a triple by Jessica Nelson. Leisinger then knocked in Nelson with a single to center. Hafford extended the Cavs lead to 11-1, when she hit a RBI single to left, bringing in Leisinger. SAGU scored three runs in the top of the fourth to cut the lead to 11-4, but then the Cavaliers came right back with five more runs. Baylee Hughes scored the first run of the inning when Sutv Meely stole second base. Aubrie Giguiere (FR/Harrah, OK) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, which brought Meely home, and then Ashli Hafford cleared the bases with a three RBI double. The Lions scored one more run in the top of the fifth, but that wasn't enough to stop the game from being called due to run rule. 

Kasady Uhr (SO/Yukon, Okla.) went all 5 innings to pick up her second win of the season. SGU's offense was led by Ashli Hafford's monsterous performance at the plate. The junior went 4-4 with two doubles, a run scored, and 6 RBI's. Crystal Pablo went 2-4 with a double, three RBI's, and three runs scored. Lauren Miller also picked up two hits, including a double off of the wall. Sutv Meely went 1-4 with three stolen bases, and three runs scored. In total, Meely scored four runs, and stole 6 bases on the day. Jessica Nelson went 1-2 with a triple, a walk, a run scored, and two RBI's. Sammy Leisinger went 1-2 with two stolen bases, a walk, one RBI, and four runs scored in game two. Baylee Hughes went 1-3 with two RBI's and a run scored. Lexis Young and Bryanne Knox each had one hit as well.

All nine of the Cavs starters registered at least one hit, and eight of the nine scored at least one run. St. Gregory's also stole 12 bases as a team, on the day. 

The Cavaliers will be back in action at the Ballfields at Firelake on Tuesday, April 4, when they take on Bacone College. The double-header is set to begin at 3 PM.
