EMPORIA, Kan.- On Saturday afternoon, the Cavaliers men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Emporia State University Relays. Several athletes set new personal records and set new season bests, but the highlight of the day was Holly Anderson (JR/Alex, Okla.) breaking her own school record in the javelin throw. 

Sophia Weisbruch (SO/Temple, Texas) set a new personal record in the 1500 meter run, and Sabrina DeSantiago (JR/Lubbock, Texas) set a new season best in the event. Darian Hargis (FR/Burns Flat, Okla.) and Teagan Dreyer (FR/Okmulgee, Okla.) also set new personal records in the 1500 meter run as well. Alexis McElvany (SR/Moore, Okla.), Alexas Vargas (FR/Terrell, Texas), and Kathleen Joyce (FR/Edmond, Okla.) each set new personal records in the 3000 meter run. The quartet of Teresa Abmuul, Tayler Woodard (FR/Broken Arrow, Okla.), Jasmine Exum (FR/Edmond, Okla.), and Jasmine Mason (FR/Del City, Okla.) set a new personal bestin the 4x100 relay. 

On the men's side, Robert Torres (SR/Salinas, Calif.) set a new season best in the 1500 meter run. Kris Parker (FR/Kingfisher, Okla.) and Matt Leedy (FR/Midwest City, Okla.) set new personal records in the 1500 meter run. 

Both teams will be action on April 7 and 8, when they compete at the Friends Invitational in Wichita, Kan.
