CHICKASHA - The St. Gregory's University women's soccer team was outshot 27-5 in a 4-0 loss at the University of Science and Arts on Thursday afternoon. The Cavaliers were unable to get anything going on the offensive end in the team's first conference tilt and fell behind early on.
The Drovers (5-4, 1-0) controlled the possession in the first half, outshooting the visitors 19-0 before intermission. Up 1-0, USAO added two more goals in the 25th minute to make it a three-goal advantage. The home team tacked on another goal in the 75th minute for the final margin.
SGU senior keeper Jennifer Taber had a season-high 12 saves to lead both teams. Freshman Brenda Campuzano and senior Criscela Hernandez led the Cavs' attack with two shots each.
SGU (0-8-1) returns to action October 4 at home against Lubbock Christian University. That game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
