CHICKASHA - For the second time in three days, the St. Gregory's University men's soccer team fell to a top 10 team. Thursday afternoon's foe, No. 5-ranked University of Science and Arts, was dominant in a 6-0 victory in Chickasha. SGU lost 3-0 on Tuesday to No. 10-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan in Shawnee.
The Drovers controlled play from the start amid a steady rain. USAO's Stephen Owusu, a freshman from Ghana, scored two goals in a six-minute stretch in the first half that pushed the home team's advantage to 4-0. USAO (6-0-2, 1-0) added two more goals early in the second half for the final margin.
SGU (4-5, 0-1) was outshot an astounding 26-2 for the game, including 16-1 in the second half. Those two shots were courtesty of sophomore Jason Swift and junior Edwin Carbajal. Cavalier keeper Brock Vorwald had six saves, all in the second half.
SGU returns to action October 4 at home against Lubbock Christian University. That game is scheduled for 3 p.m.
