SHAWNEE - The St. Gregory's University volleyball team couldn't rally from an early deficit in a straight set loss to Kansas Wesleyan University Saturday at W.P. Wood Field House. The Cavaliers fell to the Coyotes for the second time in 2012, this time by a count of 25-16, 25-16, 25-21.

"We gave them a better match this time around, but we didn't show enough intensity to win," said SGU coach Katrina English. "(Kansas Wesleyan) is a good team, and this match will prepare us for the tougher teams in our conference."

The SGU attack was led by Ashley Williams who had a game-high seven kills. Joey Redwine chipped in with 15 assists, and Yazmin Lopez had a team-high 11 digs.

SGU (11-10, 1-6 SAC) returns to action Tuesday at Oklahoma City University. That match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
