The Cavaliers took sets four and five to defeat the Stars 3-2 in their SAC conference match Tuesday evening (18-25, 25-18, 20-25, 25-20, 15-12).  the victory was the first win over the Stars in the SGU volleyball history.

The Cavaliers fell behind early on in the match by dropping the first set by the score of 18-25, however they would fight back and took the second set from the Stars by the same score, 25-18.

Both teams fought hard during the next two sets with OCU winning set number three and the Cavaliers coming out on top in the fourth set.  The score was the same in both sets with the winning team coming out on top by a 25-20 margin.

During the fifth and final set both teams play even for the first 16 points and with the score tied at 8-8 the Cavaliers go on a small run to take the lead at 11-8.  After the Stars stop the run, St. Greg's scores the next three points for a larger lead and the Cavaliers were sitting at match point, 14-9.  The Cavs stumbled a bit on the next few points and allowed the Stars to within two points at 14-12 before Cavalier Senior Kimmy Seiler slammed the door on the Stars with the match winning kill.

Three different Cavaliers ended the match with nine kills each, led by Kimmy Seiler, followed by Tiphani Funk and Morgan Brown.  Leading all Cavalier players at the net was junior Ashley Williams, the Aloha, Oregon native ended the match with 11 kills.

The Cavaliers improved to 12-10 on the season and 2-6 in the SAC race.  The two conference wins are the most ever by a Cavalier volleyball team.  The Cavaliers will stay on the road for their next match as they take the short trip down MacArthur Street to take on the 10th ranked Bison next Tuesday, October 23rd.
