WINFIELD, Kan. - St. Gregory's University runner Monika Kalicinska turned in her best performance of the season Saturday, finishing third out of 167 runners at the NAIA Mid-States Classic in Winfield, Kan. The freshman from Poland finished the 5,000-meter course in 18:30, which was seven seconds out of second and 27 seconds behind the leader.

"The women ran great today," said SGU coach Matt Aguero. "Monika had her best race of the year. I'm excited to see how they perform at the conference meet in two weeks."

As a team, SGU finished 15th with a total time of 1:50:53. Coming in second among Cavalier runners was Callie Pacheco (20:53), followed by Felicia Kuse (21:44), Jazmin Gonzalez (22:06) and Michaela Roe (27:38).

SGU returns to action November 3 at the Sooner Athletic Conference meet in Shawnee.
