VANCOUVER, Wash. - St. Gregory's University cross country runners Monika Kalicinska and Dominic Cabada both had strong showings Saturday at a rainy NAIA National Championship Meet in Vancouver, Wash.
Kalicinska, a senior from Poland, finished 65th out of 320 runners. She turned in a time of 19:07 on the 5,000-meter course. Cabada, a freshman from Boulder, Colo., finished in 26:15 on the men's 8,000-meter course. That was good enough for 111th out of 309 runners.
"I am proud of both of them," said SGU coach Matt Aguero. "The times were slow today due to the weather, and the course was muddy. But they both did well and have had outstanding seasons."
British Columbia won the team championship, and College of Idaho's Hillary Holt won the individual title on the women's side. On the men's side, St. Francis (Ill.) claimed the team title, and John Gilbertson of The Master's (Calif.) earned individual honors.
