Dominic Cabada's semifinal time of 8:46.12 Friday wasn't good enough to qualify for the national finals.

GENEVA, Ohio – St. Gregory's University track athletes Dominic Cabada and Dontayveous Allen both fell short of the finals Friday at the 2013 NAIA Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Geneva, Ohio.

Cabada, a freshman from Boulder, Colo., ran the 3,000-meter run in 8:46.12, which was about 13 seconds slower than the final qualifying time. He finished 19th overall in the semifinals. Cabada earned his nationals appearance on Feb. 2 at the MSSU Lion Invitational in Joplin, Mo., with a "B" standard time of 8:46.45 in the 3K.

Allen, a freshman from Longview, Texas, came in 16th in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:23.97 in the semifinals. That was about three seconds slower than the final qualifying time. He qualified for nationals at the Nebraska Tune-Up, finishing the 600 in a season-best time of 1:21.93.

The outdoor season begins March 16 at the Southwestern Kansas Invitational in Winfield, Kan.
