SHAWNEE – Anthony Watkins earned a B national qualifying standard in the 110-meter hurdles Saturday at the OBU Bison Invitational. Watkins, a freshman from Kileen, Texas, finished the event in 15 seconds flat, which was good enough for fifth place overall.

Watkins also ran well in the 400-meter hurdles, placing eighth with a time of 59.42. Other individual top 10 finishers include Guthrie Clower in the 100-meter dash (10th, 11.73), Corey Lulko in the 200-meter dash (10th, 22.49), Dominic Cabada in the 5,000-meter run (6th, 15:51.20), Dawson Holt in the high jump (7th, 1.78m) and Terance Artrip in the shot put (9th, 11.85m) and discus throw (10th, 34.62m).

Another highlight from the day included the Cavalier 4x800-meter relay team winning its event with a time of 8:03.11.

SGU returns to action April 20 at the Sooner Athletic Conference Classic, which will be hosted at Oklahoma Baptist University.
