SHAWNEE – St. Gregory's ran its winning streak to five games with a doubleheader sweep of USAO Saturday at the SGU Softball Complex. The No. 15-ranked Cavaliers rode the arm of Devon Frazier in winning the opener, 2-0, before racking up 12 hits in a come-from-behind 7-3 victory in the nightcap. SGU has won nine of its last 10 overall.

The Cavs took Game 1 despite managing only one hit – an Otelia Ramirez RBI single in the second inning. SGU added another run in the frame on a Drover error, and that turned out to be all Frazier needed.

The junior from Little Axe gave up only two hits for the game, facing two over the minimum after the first inning. Frazier (15-3) struck out four with no walks and recorded her 12th complete game of the season.

USAO broke through with its first score of the day in the fifth inning of Game 2, tallying three runs on four hits to go up 3-1. The Cavs got one back in the bottom of the inning on a Danielle Bacon sacrifice fly, and then exploded for five runs in the sixth to go up for good.

All five runs in the frame came with two outs as Allison Conyers, Melanie Gladden, Bacon and Whitney Anderson each had run-scoring hits.

Sierra Gallego pitched a perfect seventh inning to run her record to 9-2. She gave up three runs on eight hits and struck out two. Gallego has won her last five decisions.

Conyers went 3-for-4 with that six-inning RBI and two runs scored. Bacon finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs and one run scored.

SGU (28-7, 9-5 SAC) concludes its regular-season series with USAO Sunday in Chickasha. That doubleheader is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
