SHAWNEE - The St. Gregory's women's soccer team kept its positive momentum going Sunday, cruising to a 7-0 win over Wiley (Texas) College. SGU freshman Araceli Flores posted her first-career hat trick in the victory on a game-high seven shots. Her effort helped the Cavaliers to their fourth consecutive win and most goals in a game since the early 2000s.

Chloe Murphy tied her career high for goals in a season when she converted a pass from Abi Housecroft in the 14th minute. Less than 13 minutes later, Flores dribbled through several Lady Wildcat defenders and snuck a shot past keeper Gabriela Mercado to make it 2-0. Riley Wilkins, a freshman from Jenks, posted her first collegiate goal just before halftime on an assist from Holly Blackwell to give the home team a three-score advantage. SGU outshot Wiley 14-2 in the first half.

That score held until late when the Cavs emphatically put it away. SGU got two goals each from Housecroft and Flores in the final 10 minutes of the game. Housecroft assisted on both of Flores' goals.

For the game, SGU outshot the Lady Wildcats 26-7, including a 10-2 on-goal advantage. Both Housecroft and Murphy had four shots each. The Cavs have held their last three opponents scoreless.

SGU (4-1) returns to action Friday at home against Southwestern College. That game is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Fr. Victor Roberts Field.
