St. Gregory's head swimming and diving coach Lyndsay Watts recently announced the signing of Altus native Garrett Thompson. A standout swimmer for the Bulldogs, Thompson won both the 50 and 100 freestyle in each of his junior and senior seasons at the Class 5A state meet.

Thompson helped AHS to a runner-up finish at this season's state meet. There, he was part of a 200 free relay team that broke a state and school record with a time of 1:31:48. Thompson was also part of the Bulldogs' champion 400 freestyle relay squad.
