LUBBOCK, Texas – Erica Heon posted a pair of top 5 finishes to lead St. Gregory's at the Wayland Baptist Invitational Friday night. The Cavaliers placed fourth as a team with 55 points.
Heon, a sophomore from Shawnee, finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.40. She was fifth in the 100 freestyle after coming in at 1:01.71.
Fellow sophomore and Shawnee native Kaitlin Hampton had a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (2:47.19). She was eighth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:17.44.
"We had a blast beating our personal best times in multiple races," said St. Gregory's coach Lyndsay Watts. "It was so rewarding for these swimmers, seeing all of their hard work in practice pay off in the meets."
The Cavaliers return to action November 7-8 at the Henderson State Invitational in Bryant, Arkansas.
