Mandy Thomson enters her third season as head coach of the St. Gregory's cheer team. Last season, she led the Cavs to top 10 finishes at both NAIA and NCA nationals.

Thomson was hired in 2014 to serve as an assistant coach for St. Gregory's rapidly growing cheer program before being named head coach in 2015.

Thomson, an Oklahoma native and graduate of Oklahoma State University, is in her sixth year as head coach at Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School. She also has worked with a couple other Oklahoma City metro high schools for nearly 10 years and has assisted a leading all-star program in the Edmond area.

Thomson has a gymnastics background and began coaching gymnastics at age 14. She began cheerleading after her gymnastics and power tumbling career.

In all, Thomson has coached cheer for 19 years. She has five NCA All-Star national titles, one state academic title, one first runner-up at NCA high school nationals, and two third-place finishes at NCA high school nationals.

In addition to her many involvements in cheerleading, Thomson also teaches NCA Speed Camps, and when time allows, she volunteers for special needs organizations.
