Mark Betterton was appointed to direct the St. Gregory's track and field and cross country programs in July 2014. Betterton had been serving in the position on an interim basis after working for nearly eight months as an assistant coach for the Cavaliers.

Betterton came to St. Gregory's with more than 30 years of coaching experience at the middle school, high school and college levels. His highlights include coaching athletes who have won 20 state titles in six different events. While at Shawnee High School, he led the school's first state champion relay team and was named the 2010 National High School Athletic Coaches Association Region 5 Coach of the Year.

Betterton twice served as an assistant for Oklahoma Baptist University, including in 1996 when the indoor program finished national runner-up.

Betterton has a bachelor's degree in education from OBU and a master's degree in junior/community college teaching from the University of Central Oklahoma. He and his wife, Karla, have been married 33 years and have two children: Adam and Jill.

Cody Ingold was hired in August 2014 to lead St. Gregory's cross country program and serve as an assistant to the track program. A 2009 graduate of Doane College, Ingold was a member of both the Tiger cross country and track and field teams. He was a two-time NAIA All-American and seven-time national qualifier.

After graduation, Ingold served as an assistant coach at both Dana College and his alma mater. He then accepted an assistant coach position at William Penn University, where he spent the three years before coming to St. Gregory's. During his coaching career, he has coached 42 national qualifiers, six All-Americans, and one national champion.

Ingold has a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Doane College.

Alice Ross was hired in September 2014 to assist both the cross country and track & field programs at St. Gregory's. While completing her master’s degree in business leadership at William Penn University, Ross served as a graduate assistant to both the cross country and track & field programs as a coach and athletic trainer. During her time at William Penn, she worked with Coach Ingold and assisted in coaching three NAIA All-Americans and 10 national qualifiers.

Ross graduated from Graceland University in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training and physical education. As a Yellowjacket, she was a NAIA national qualifier, scholar athlete, and held two school records.
