Allison Roberts begins her third season at the helm of the Cavalier volleyball program. In her first year, SGU finished 7-18 overall with a pair of all-conference players, and in her second year she led the Cavs to a 19-16 record and a fifth place finish in the conference. The Cavaliers had five athletes earn All-SAC honors in 2016, and three of those athletes return for the 2017 season.

A decorated athlete from Plano, Texas, Roberts joined the Cavaliers after serving two seasons on the coaching staff at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. Roberts helped SWOSU match its program's third-highest win total in 2013. The Bulldogs shattered several school records for blocking that season.

Prior to arriving at SWOSU, Roberts was a four-year starter for Presbyterian College in South Carolina, splitting time playing at the right side and middle hitter positions. She played for the Blue Hose from 2009-12, starting 60 of 61 matches during the final two years of her career.

Roberts ranks among the top five in several Division I-era career records at Presbyterian, including kills, assists and blocks. She ranks second in career blocks and fourth in kills with 860. She ranked among the top three on the team in kills in each of her four seasons.

Roberts was a two-time Most Outstanding Offensive Player at Plano East High School, where she also garnered second-team all-district accolades. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Presbyterian College in May 2013 and completed her master's degree at SWOSU in 2015.

Allison and her husband, Ian, were married in December 2015.
