SGU baseball player Jacob Ratliff suits up for his final season as a Cavalier in 2014, looking to improve upon an impressive 2013 campaign.

Last season, Ratliff led the team offensively in batting average (.370), hits (54), doubles (14), RBIs (27), slugging percentage (.541) and total bases (79). In addition, he was 3-8 with a 7.71 ERA in 11 starts on the bump, including 41 strike outs in 58 innings. Ratliff had a season-high four hits against SWOSU and Oklahoma Baptist and a season-high seven Ks vs. York (Neb.).

Ratliff enjoyed a decorated high school career. He was MVP of the Santa Clara High School football team his junior year. He was named best offensive player and was a three-time all-league selection in baseball at Santa Clara.
