OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City took advantage of a bad hitting night by St. Gregory's, cruising to a straight-sets win (25-15, 28-26, 25-15) Thursday at Abe Lemons Arena. The Stars won for the sixth time in seven matches, while the Cavaliers have dropped six straight.

St. Gregory's committed 28 attack errors en route to a season-worst -.102 hitting percentage. Sophomore Cierra Mullins was the only Cavalier with a positive attacking night, finishing with a team-best seven kills.

Junior setter Maggie Lasater totaled 12 assists, and libero Daniella Rivera earned game-high honors with 16 digs. Freshman Kayrin Wells finished with three blocks.

St. Gregory's got off to a rough start, hitting only -.231 in dropping the first set. Down 8-6, the Cavs saw the home team reel off seven in a row to take a commanding nine-point lead. SGU got no closer than six during the remainder of the frame.

The Cavs dug an early seven-point hole in the second but battled back this time. St. Gregory's eventually tied it at 17 after a Mullins kill and a Star ball handling error and then took the lead at 21-20 on a block by Courtney Murphy and Wells. It was a back-and-forth battle from there with both teams facing set point, but OCU eventually broke a 26-all tie with consecutive kills from Kristen Macy and Chazmin Franklin.

The Stars raced out to an eight-point advantage in the third and then kept the visitors at arms-length the rest of the way. OCU hit a match-best .176 in the set and was helped by 11 Cavalier attack errors.

St. Gregory's (6-22, 2-13 SAC) concludes its season Saturday at home against Mid-America Christian. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m. at W.P. Wood Field House. The Cavs will honor their five seniors following the match.
